All the chillin!

So WA was a blast! We were snowed in a couple of days. It snowed more than I can ever remember it snowing ever. It was pretty cool! The family all got together and we had so much fun. Josh came from Georgia. We haven't seen him since April so it was great seeing him again and having him meet Lincoln! I am so grateful for my family and I just love spending time with them! Anyway, here are just a bunch of pics from the trip!

5 Months Old!

Okay, I know I am super late on his 5 month update and pretty soon you will be hearing about his 6 month update but time is just going by too fast! I love this picture because he stretched just as I was taking the picture so he looks like he is copying his stuffed animal.
So we went to WA for Christmas (which is a whole post in itself) and had so much fun. On the 20 hour drive back here to UT Lincoln got sick. He has a cold and an ear infection. The poor boy. He's been on antibiotics for the last 5 days so he is slowly starting to feel better, thank goodness. I don't think I have slept more than 4 hours a night. And it is not 4 hours all at once either. The medicine has given him diahrea (sp) so I have been changing diapers and cleaning clothes like none other. But, luckily he is getting better and I am so glad.
Lincoln is now 15 lbs 6 oz. So crazy. He is laughing and screaching like crazy now and is also sitting up by himself. He has his two bottom teeth in and they are so cute. He sure can bite. In a couple weeks I will post about his 6 month check-up!

Merry Christmas and I'm Tagged!

First of all, Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Holiday!

Secondly, I've been tagged! Thanks Rindi!!

1 .Where were you when you first found out that you were pregnant? I was at home.

2.Who was with you? I was alone when I first found out, but then I bought another test and Chris was there for that one!

3.How did you find out that you were pregnant? I knew right when I was prego, I told Chris immediately, then I tried to just forget about it for a month (yeah right) and then I took the test and I was right. I still had to take another one though, just to be sure. The first pregnancy test was from the first time I was pregnant so I didn't trust it because it was old!

4.What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? So happy. I was alone but I smiled so big and covered my mouth! Chris was at acting class so I was so stoked to tell him and bursting because I couldn't tell him right away! When he got home, I just showed him the test and started crying and asked him if that was okay? He was like " of course that's okay!" He was pretty excited!

5.Who was the first person you told? Honestly, my sister. I couldn't call Chris during class so I had to call my sister immediately to tell her!

6.Did you plan to get pregnant? No, we agreed that it wasn't something we wanted to "plan" for- we would just let it happen, but we obviously weren't doing anything to prevent it. We felt ready!

7.Did you tell everyone else right away? Nope. We were going to WA for Christmas and it was the first grandbaby on my side, so we wanted to do something special. We wrapped "I love Grandma" and "I love Grandpa" frames and wrote little poems in them and gave them to my parents for Christmas. They were so excited! My mom was crying, and pretty sure my dad teared up a little too!

8.Was everybody happy for you? I hope so, if not, they sure hid it well!

9.Did you go out and celebrate? Not that I remember. My first pregnancy we celebrated and went out to eat, but we didn't want to jinx this one. It was hard to tell alot of people because we were scared of miscarrying again.

10.Did you want to find out the sex? You bet your butt we did! Not a single part of me wanted it to be a surprise.

11.What was the sex? It WAS and still is a baby boy!

12.Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yeah, my sister-in-law Kristin threw me one. Ash, Aubs and Nichole threw me one as well! They ended up being after he was born though, since he came so early. Really, I liked it that way! I think I want all my showers to be after the babe is born!

14.How much weight did you gain? Approx. 28 Lbs. Yeah right, There is nothing approximate about that one!

15.Did you lose all of the weight that you gained? I still have 2-3 Lbs to lose. Not too bad BUT I do need to tone up alot to get back to the way I was!

16.Did you get any stretch marks? Ugh...yes. But, they aren't very bad anymore. I have been working out and I can hardly see them anymore. I thought that it would be the end of the world if I got them, but surprisingly, it wasn't. They are my battle scars!

17.What did you crave the most? fruit, popsicles, grilled cheese sandwiches, cookie dough, anything lime or lemon flavored.

18.Did you crave anything crazy? Not really, no.

19.Who or what got on your nerves? smells. Yes that's right, smells got on my nerves. I hated the smell of ANY food.

20.Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Uhhhh, I was soooo sick for 7 months straight. I am talkin can't leave the house, in bed and puking like 7-8 times a day for the first4 months and then almost once everyday after that. After the first 4 month I got so sick of being home, so I just came to terms with puking in public and in front of people. I would just carry a small bathroom garbage can everywhere with me, line it with several grocery sacks and do my thang!

21.Where and when did you go into labor? At home. I was having contractions all day long but at about midnight they were pretty close together so I woke Chris up and packed my bag and convinced him to take me to the hospital. He didn't believe I was in labor because it was so early!

22.Did your water break? No. The doctor broke it.

23.Who drove you to the hospital? Chris. Pretty reluctantly I think.

24.Who was in the room when you gave birth? Dr. Corry, 2 nurses for me, 2 NICU nurses for Lincoln, Chris, and his mom.

25.Did you go early or late? Exactly 1 month early.

26.How long were you in labor for? Hard to say. When I went into the hospital, I was already 5 cm. Do they count that? We got there around 2am and had Lincoln at 8:15am.

27.Did you have any drugs for the pain? One of the first things I said when they told me I was having a baby. As I recall, "What!? I'm not ready! I'm scared! I want an epideral!"

28.Did you go natural or have a C-section? Natural, thank goodness, I was so scared of a C-Section

29.What was your first reaction after giving birth? "Oh my gosh, he's so cute" then I looked at Chris and said "I feels so good to not be pregnant anymore!" Seriously, I instantly felt better!

30.How big was the baby? 5 lbs 6 oz and 18.5 inches long!!!

31.Did your husband cry? Yeah, just a little though, me too!

32.What did you name the baby? Lincoln Kenneth Laird

33.Does his name have any significant meaning? Kinda. Chris has always liked the name Lincoln and I loved it when he mentioned it to me! Kenneth is Chris' father's name.

34.Did you have any visitors? Yeah, all of Chris' immediate family, Johnny and Sarah, Becky Smith, Aubrey. Did I get everyone?

35.Did the baby have any complications? Yeah, he need a little help breathing at first, he had an infection (which triggered the early labor) and he needed to learn how to eat and gain some weight. But he is so strong. He improved so quickly and we were never really worried about him.

36.How old is your baby today? 5 months and 1 day old!

37.When is the next one coming? Maybe in like 2 years or so...we'll see.

38.If you could, would you do it all over again? Heck yes! So worth it. I have the best little boy who is just such a joy to be around and makes us smile so much! Being a parent is the best thing in the world. Seriously!

Okay, I tag everyone on my list who has had a baby! If you don't know who you are then a: check the right side of this blog. and b: ask yourself "have I had a baby?" and hopefully you will know!

I Elf-ed Myself...

You are probably thinking to yourself right now, "My best friend Serena must be out of her mind. What does she mean she "elf-ed" herself? She may need an intervention..."

"No wait, " Serena says, "please just give me a chance to explain myself."

Okay, so this elf yourself thang circulated throughout my work last year. I did it but ours wasn't very cute because we didn't have our cute little Lincoln here with us. NOW, he is here and so I bring you... The Laird Family 2008 Elf Dance. (I actually couldn't decide on a dance I liked best, so there are 2 of them.) Enjoy!

Videos!

Man, I feel like I am posting everyday, but there are so many new things that Lincoln is doing each day! Here is a video of Lincoln eating rice cereal for the first time, messy and cute!
Also, his cousin Kaydence came over last night and they were hanging out and being so cute with eachother, so here is a video of that!

Last night he started sucking his thumb too, it is my favorite! He was just laying on the floor sucking away!
I rocked him to sleep last night and laid him in bed. Well, he woke up when I laid him down but I decided to just leave and see if he would fall back to sleep on his own. So, I went and brushed my teeth and went back to check on him and sure enough, he was fast asleep with his thumb in his mouth!

4 Months old!!!

Well, on Monday, Lincoln turned 4 months old! I can hardly believe it!!! Today we went to the doctors for his 4 month check-up and shots. So sad. This time he cried even more and it broke my heart. He weighed in at 13 lbs 8 oz and is 25 inches long. The doctor said he is small for his age but is right on track considering he was a preemie. He is completely healthy and the doc even said we could start feeding him rice cereal now! I am excited to see how he likes it! Anyway, I feel so lucky to have the best little boy ever!!!

Photo shoot!

These are photos our very talented friend (Thayne Wheeler) did for us back in September!

Update!

Playing with mommy!

Our little monkey!

Chris and his love interest (in the show...because pretty much I am his love interest the rest of the time!)

So we went to Idaho this weekend to finish up the movie Chris did. It was a lot of fun! We stayed with one of the investors...the wife was prego at the same time I was and helped me ALOT through my sickness. We met for the first time this weekend and had a blast together! They have an incredible home! They have a giant movie room with awesome surround sound that shakes the whole room and your seat. We took Lincoln in there and watched part of The Transformers (not a quiet movie) but he loved every second of it and didn't get scared at all the loud noises or anything. So here is a video of us in there. Oh, and one of their cute little ones is in the recording too! The rest are just fun pics that we have taken over the last few weeks!

Happy Birthday Chris!!!

So Thursday, the 6th was Chris' 26th birthday!!!
He went to the Utah/TCU football game that night and I'm pretty sure he had the time of his life! I asked him what all he wanted for his birthday and he told me just to buy something for Lincoln...well, I did. I got Lincoln this super cute Bengal's outfit and I got Chris a Bengals hat. The Cincinati Bengals is Chris' favorite football team. I know what you are thinking....they are 1-8 right now BUT Chris loves the color orange and his favorite animal is a tiger SOOO, it all makes sense, right?! Here is a pic of Link and Chris in their attire and Chris with his brother Sam and Sam's father-in-law at the football game!

Christopher, I love you so much, thanks for being the bestest friend, husband and baby-daddy EVER!!!

Lincoln meeting the family chickens!

Link and uncle Jake.

Grandma reading Link a story.

Link and grandpa snuggling.

Uncle Chris holing Link like a football.

Link and uncle Jake napping.

The boys!

Link with Auntie Amb.

My parent's dog was really protective of Lincoln. She would run upstairs everytime Link would cry. Here they are snuggling after bath-time!

So this was the first time my little brother's and my sister got to meet little Link. It was so cute seeing all of them with him. The boys kept wanting me to wake him up so they could hold him all the time. My parents got to babysit Lincoln a few times while Chris and I went to the gym and to Seattle. It was nice to get out alot more but I missed him so much everytime I was away. We are hoping to go back to visit near Christmas-time, my older brother is in Georgia right now for Airborn training for the Army and hasn't met Link yet so we hope to see him then! This page looks like a mess but I didn't have time to fix it.

Lincoln's Blessing!!!!

We finally got Lincoln blessed while we were in Washington, Oct.26th to be exact. We really wanted my family to be a a part of this special day. It was fabulous. Chris did an amazing job with the blessing and I am so grateful to have both these incredible boys in my life! It was a beautiful day out so we all went to a park and my Uncle Doug took pictures of all of us, we then went to his house and had a fabulous salmon dinner. I am not huge on fish at all but it was delish!
