Lincoln's first photo shoot!

So, here is Lincoln's first photo shoot. I would just like to say that if you ever get naked pictures of your baby, make sure you bring extra clothes for EVERYONE involved. He peed on us 3 times and #2ed on Chris. So gross but so funny! Totally worth it though because they turned out so cute. They are so perfect and exactly what I wanted. I am sure you are wondering who the fabulous person who did the photos is: It is the one and only Cassi Weidenbacher. She is so talented and so patient. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I HIGHLY recommend her, so if anyone needs a photographer, let me know and I can get you her information! Thanks Cassi!

1 Month Old!!!

I can hardly believe that Lincoln is already one month old! So crazy! His one month was on Sunday (the 17th)...which it is really weird to think that he wasn't even suppose to be born til then. I took him to his check-up yesterday and he weighed in at 6LBS 15OZ and is now 21 1/2 inches long!!! He has already changed so much. Chris was feeding him a bottle the other day when I was gone and he said that Lincoln held his bottle up all by himself. He has done it twice now! Also he rolls himself over already!






Also, Aug 17th was our 1 year anniversary for being sealed in the Temple! I can't even describe what a blessing it has been for us to be sealed to eachother and to have Lincoln born under the covenant! I am so grateful for Chris, he was able to give Lincoln a blessing the other night when he was feeling sick. It is so great to have the priesthood in our home!

I promise that everyone is going to get so sick of all the pictures that I will post of Lincoln! He is just so cute! Anyway, I can hardly believe that he is already 3 weeks old! Time really does fly by! (p.s.-please ignore the dates on the pictures...I don't know how to take that feature off my camera!) Lincoln is getting better at sleeping at night. Usually he will sleep for 3-4 hours straight which gives me some sort of rest! He moans and groans ALOT which keeps me up at night. I can't really seem to let him sleep in his crib...it is too far away and I can't see his face, so usually he just sleeps in his carseat on the floor next to me...he likes it! Anyway, that is pretty much all of an update I have for now! We sure love having him home with us! Enjoy the pics!

1 Week Old!

Here are some cute pics of Lincoln. He looks like he is talking on the phone in a couple of them. Chris was asking him who he was talking to on the phone and just then Chris' phone started ringing...it was funny. (Don't worry, it wasn't Lincoln).

We are so in love!

Here are some pics of us lovin our little man! He is doing very well and just needs to learn how to eat a little better and then they will let him come home! I think he is sick of being at the hospital, he pulled out his feeding tube the other day...that's why he has tape stuck to his face, it was holding in his tube...didn't work to well!

Lincoln Kenneth Laird is here!!!!

So, for those who don't know the story, I will tell you the Reader's Digest version. All day Wednesday I was having contractions but nothing serious til about midnight on Thursday morning...they got bad and I was pretty sure I was in labor. Sure enough, we went to the hospital around 1:30-2am and they said I was dilated to a 5 and that I was having a baby! After telling Chris that I wasn't ready and that I was scared, I asked for an epideral and about an hour and a half later was completely numb and not scared anymore! Close to 8am they said I was ready to start pushing and at 8:15am on July 17th (that's right, exactly 1 month early) little Lincoln was born. They hurried him to the NICU...I had an infection which they said triggered the labor and Lincoln has the infection as well. His lungs were also a little under-developed. He is still in the NICU, but they let us come in and hold him last night which was fantastic! They said today, they are going to take his cannula off and let him breathe on his own. I will also get to try to feed him today! He is doing really well. They originally said he would be there 2-4 weeks but it is looking like he might be home within a week! We are so thankful to have a healthy baby. We couldn't be happier...it is the most amazing feeling in the world! Thanks to all those who prayed for us. All the prayers helped tremendously!

Lincoln is only 2 days old and we already have so many pictures of him. Here are a few...I will try to post more later! He was 5 Lbs 6 Oz and 18 and 1/2 inches long. I think he looks so much like Chris...I love it and him! He likes to hold onto his binkie...so cute!

35 Weeks Pregnant with 35 Days left to go!

Just thought I would put in this little countdown! Lincoln will be here very soon as I only have 35 days left, although, I will gladly take a few days less if he is willing!

Rodeo a.k.a the best day of my life!

Awww...seriously so much fun was had on this day! We went to the Strawberry Day's Rodeo in Pleasant Grove and had a blast! I don't know why I love Rodeos sooo much, but I do. I am pretty certain that little Lincoln will grow up and ride in Rodeos. We will dress him up in tight jeans with a huge belt buckle and a plaid button up shirt and of course a cowboy hat and then put him on those little sheep and send him holding on for dear life! I will go and watch him and have more best days of my life!

P.S.-Speaking of Lincoln, in our ultrasound we had at the hospital, they took a picture of his face but it was from a view from the chin...pretty much looking straight up his nose...not a very pretty shot for anyone. He basically looks like a Shrek baby from Shrek the Third...he's REALLY attractive! Seriously though, he was soo cute, he was sucking with his mouth (I don't know what else he would suck with but whatev), he also had little chubby cheeks and some hair on his head! Anyway, I pretty much love him and can't wait to meet him!

Hospital visit!

So today, Chris and I decided that we should go tour Timpanogos Hospital since that is where we will be having the baby. So, we go and tour and ask questions and all was good. We go about our day running errands and STILL apartment hunting (blah) and when we get home, I realize that I am bleeding...you can imagine where. Yes, well...having miscarried before, this was how it all started last time around. I decide that I will call my doctor in Idaho so he can reassure me that everything is okay. Instead, the nurse asks about the baby's movements for the day. That is when I realize that I only felt him move this morning when I woke up and he hadn't really moved the rest of the day(now 4pm). So, then I call a doctor that I wanted to start seeing when we officially moved down here, he told me to go to the Hospital. Keep in mind how bad this sucks that our insurance doesn't go into effect til July 1st....just a few days off! So I am back to the hospital for a detailed tour this time. They hooked the me up to monitors to watch the baby's heartbeat for about an hour, then the nurse comes rushing in on her cell phone looking at the monitor and talking to my doctor on the phone. The baby's heartbeat had dropped to 90 from 150 so they were a little worried about that. They decided to do an ultrasound to make sure fluids and everything else was okay. So the end of the story is....I got to see our little baby again....and he is cute and his face is chubby and I love him. They think everything is alright, it all checks out, so they just put me on modified bedrest for a little bit! Little do they know that I still need to find a place to live and move from Idaho, all in the next week!

Yellowstone National Park

This past weekend we went up to Yellowstone and had a blast! It was perfect weather and we saw tons of animals! The buffalo would walk right up to the car and just cross the street right in front of you. It was great! Driving through the park was crazy...it would be forest one second, then it would turn into all rock mountains, then into plains, waterfalls, lakes, streams. It is crazy how much beauty is in one place!

Since it is Father's Day, I thought it would be appropriate to write some of the things I am thankful for. I have the greatest husband in the world and I can't even imagine what I would do without you! You are already such an incredible father and our baby isn't even born yet! Chris, thank you for:

~always taking care of me when I am sick
~cleaning up my throw-up bags for me
~holding my hair and rubbing my back while I throw-up
~going to every single doctor's appt. with me
~listening to me always talk about the baby and pregnancy
~still loving me even when I look like crap!
~reading stories to my belly
~always saying good morning to my belly
~putting up with me always making you feel my belly when the baby is moving...which is all the time!
~always opening the door for me
~putting up with me when I am having a crabby, feel-sorry-for-myself day
~making me laugh all the time

I can't wait to have our baby here with us. I hope he turns out to be the kind of person you are! I love you so much and appreciate all you do for me and our baby! You are the greatest husband in the world for so many other reasons...but I will go into those on Happy Greatest Husband in the World Day. In the meantime, Happy Father's Day and I love you bigger than the whole sky!

Me....all prego

So, I wouldn't say that I am super thrilled to have documentation that I was ever prego and looked like this...but I am sure someday...in the future, I will look back fondly on these times. Don't mind my double chin.
